Rozalia Russian Talks Style, Beauty and Motherhood
She's living the dream and loving every second of it!

Klementiner Gemma had the privilege of talking to Rozalia Russian - blogger, fashionista and mother extraordinaire - about style, her favourite beauty tips and life after having her beautiful daughter Willow.
How has your style evolved over the years?
I think I have definitely turned to a more 'classic' style. My wardrobe is probably 70% classic items such as leather pants, grey/white t-shirts, blazers et cetera… The rest of the wardrobe is a mix of stripes and prints. I'd like to think I am a lot more polished than my teen self.
Has your style changed now that you’re a mother?
I think it has become more relaxed. I can't wear high heels during the day to run around in like I used to as I now have a baby to carry around with me. I was lucky enough to be able to breastfeed my baby so wearing clothing that was easy for me to feed Willow in was also important. I still dress up every day, and when I have a night time function then I will whip out the heels.
Must haves for autumn?
-
Leather pants/leggings
-
An amazing coat to throw over your outfit
-
A great pair of ankle boots
-
A cute beanie to hide your hair after your have been rained on!
Which trends do you hate and which do you love?
I hate Birkenstocks. Always have and always will. I know they tried to make a comeback this past summer but I am not a fan at all. The trends that I love are the trends that are in fashion year after year which include leather, tailored dressing, crisp white shirts…
You have a knack for finding amazing, affordable pieces. How should girls get the most out of their budget?
I think it is better to invest in quality if you can instead of quantity. I would rather spend my last $200 on a beautiful white silk shirt rather than 3 cheap items that are going to fall apart.
How do you keep you hair so healthy?
I am lucky that my hair is naturally healthy, I don't really dye it either so that helps. I do make sure that I invest in a good shampoo and conditioner as I really notice the difference in how my hair styles depending on what product I have used. I also make sure I get a trim every couple of months to get rid of all the dead ends.

What’s the best beauty advice you have been given?
I think it’s the same one that we have all been told. Wash your make up off before bed! I also make sure that on my days off I don't wear any make up to let my skin have a rest. I also never wear any make up when I am exercising. I don't understand the concept of sweating in a full face of make up and clogging up your pores.
Top five beauty products you can’t live without?
-
Concealer
-
Mascara
-
Perfume
-
A good skin scrub
-
Blush
How do you stay healthy?
I try to eat healthy 80% of the time, but you have to reward yourself and enjoy life. I think it’s about being sensible. If I had a piece of cake for lunch, well I’m not going to have a block of chocolate after dinner.
What are some of your favourite workouts?
I actually hate working out! Unfortunately, after having a baby I have to! I walk with the pram almost everyday for at least 30 minutes, I then train with my trainer 3 times a week. She knows I hate exercising but she pushes me and really makes me sweat. During the sessions I run, skip and do a lot of weight training. After having the baby my stomach has no core muscles whatsoever so we have been really focusing on getting some muscles back.
Women’s issues that are important in 2014 are…
I think women are still competing with each other too much. We live in a world where some women are still insecure and worry too much about what other women are doing, what other women have, et cetera. I think it is important to appreciate what you have and count each day you are healthy as a blessing. Having a baby really put a lot of things into perspective for me. Each day I really do count my blessings that my family and I are healthy and happy. Everything else that comes into my life is an added bonus.
How has motherhood changed you?
It sounds very cliched but motherhood has taught me not to sweat the small stuff. There are more important things in life than worrying over the little things I used to. My life has a whole new meaning and I have a beautiful little baby who needs a lot of love and comfort. It has also put a lot of things into perspective. I do not need nor want anything materialistic. All I want and pray for is a healthy and happy baby.

What low-key things do you like doing?
I love being at home with the TV on whilst lying on the floor playing with Willow.
The look on her face when I come and sit down with her and she knows we are going to play is just sheer excitement.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years time I would like to say that my husband has retired and we are relaxing on the beach somewhere in Europe with Willow and either her baby brother or sister.
What inspired you to start your blog?
I kept on receiving emails from girls asking for advice on different topics, everything from where to buy ankle boots from to where I bought my dining chairs from. I then decided to turn those emails into a blog form. It is a great way for me to share what products/fashion/beauty items I like and all different tips and tricks that I have learnt.
