“Me and Jenny, we go together like peas and carrots” – Forrest Gump
Mum. It’s a short word to describe one of the most important people in my life. She wanted to be a mother so bad she invested thousands of dollars and years of her time to fall pregnant. She’s not a conventional woman and that’s what I love about her most. She’s not afraid to get her hands dirty, speak her mind and say things that are beyond inappropriate. She’s taught me not to expect things but to work for them, she sacrificed everything so that I could experience so much. I tell her everything, even things you shouldn’t tell your mum because to me she is so much more than a three-letter word!

My mum is THEEEE best! She works crazy hard, doing things she doesn’t necessarily want to be doing but she does it because she wants the best for our family! She looks after us and always tells it to me straight when I come up with the next crazy idea. If she ever tries to give us the silent treatment she never lasts more than a few minutes and will be back looking for cuddles in no time! The more and more time I have spent away from home the more time I appreciate coming back and just hanging out with mum We love you Mumma, have a great mothers day!

I absolutely adore my dear Mama bear. She is the one woman who has consistently given it to me straight. Whether it is on something I’ve written or the dress that I’m wearing, I know that there will be no sugar-coated answer! I love that when I’ve had a rough day, she would give me a full body massage. I love how she flicks her head back in an almost Elmo-like fashion as she laughs at her own awkward jokes and I love her for all the times that she’s plucked my eyebrows when I’ve been remarkably gross and lazy. I adore this woman for being my inspiration and most importantly always loving me no matter my questionable decisions!

Ever since I was a young lass, people have told my Mum and I that we look identical. Every time, we both respond with, “No way!” But secretly, I’ve always felt a little twinge of pride that I’m so obviously related to the wonderful woman I call my mother. She’s not only been a mother to my brothers and me, but a faux-father figure, a bestie, a fashion stylist, a wallet (sorry), and an inspiration. She taught me that all I need is confidence in myself to get by in the world, and I can’t thank her enough for the strength that lesson has given me. Thanks for putting up with all my shit, Mum. You’re the bomb.

My mum is the rock in our home, a constant for our family of five. Eager to please, quick to laugh and the best advice-giver I’ve ever known, she truly is my favourite person in the world. She knows I need something before I do and can solve any of my seemingly life-threatening problems over a cup of tea. We share clothes, secrets, jokes and above all, an unbreakable mother-daughter connection that I am grateful for everyday. To the most selfless, loving human being I know and to my best friend, happy Mother’s Day.

Three reasons why my mum is the best one:
- We weren't allowed to watch TV during the week. But that meant we read books, spent time with each other playing board games and actually went outside under that big yellow thing in the sky.
- She has a sixth sense, like her “mum” sense. There’s no way you can lie to her, you can’t even sneak a spoonful of Milo out of the tin, she’s got super-sonic-mum hearing.
- My brother’s pinky finger is permanently crooked because when he broke it in a basketball game mum said “You’ll be right!”
Happy Mother’s Day mum! I love you. You really are the best.

My Mum is the ultimate mum, wife & friend. I’ve never met anyone else who will support you so fully, fight for your side so strongly, and help you ever step of the way. She’s there for a laugh when you find a ridiculous video on the internet, there to join you in a tirade when you just can’t stand the politicians/lecturers/idiots of the world anymore, and there for a hug when you just cant deal with anything. She never does anything in halves, always throws her full heart into everything, including being a mum. There isn’t anyone else quite as incredible in the exact same way, and that is an extreme loss to the world.
