Beauty products can be expensive at the best of times, yet we all love to use them.
Whether you're a struggling student or just trying to skimp on some cash, here few tips to help save you some dosh.
Baby wipes
Not just a handy thing to have when you're camping at a festival, baby-wipes are amazing make-up removers too.
Facial wipes are a great time saver but with only about twenty-five in a packet and prices up to twenty dollars the cost can add up.
Baby wipes are not only incredibly gentle on your skin and fantastic at removing make-up, they’re also about a third of the price and you get 3 times as many in a pack.
Tea-tree oil
Pimples, we all get them at some point, some of us more than others. But instead of spending money on cleansers and blemish creams, give tea-tree oil a go.
This clever little product is amazing for many reasons, it is a natural antiseptic so all you need to do is dab a tiny bit onto the spot and it will clear right up.
It also helps take away the itch out of mosquito bites and helps heal ingrown hairs. You only need a little bit and it will last you a long time.
Cotton pads in the freezer
We've all heard the tales of putting cucumber slices over our eyes to reduce puffiness, but who has one in their fridge at all times? Anyone?
If you've had a late night out or spent the day watching/crying over ‘The Notebook’ then you’ll probably be needing a quick and easy way to sooth your eyes.
Simply wet a couple of cotton makeup pads and then leave them in the freezer for a few minutes.
Then just put the ice-cold cotton pads over your eyes and you'll be looking fresh as a daisy.
Home-made exfoliators
Exfoliating your skin is a great way to make your it glow but why spend money on pricey products when you can just make it at home.
Mix a cup of olive oil with the same measure of either raw sugar or sea salt, until it's thick and you have an instant and effective body-scrub.
Olive oil is incredibly luxurious on your skin and the sugar/salt crystals work gently to remove old skin cells.
You can substitute sugar or salt with oats but these won't dissolve in the shower so it can get messy.
